NCH’s move to a semester system from September 2023

We are excited to announce that the University will adopt a semester system from September 2023. This means that our academic year will start and end earlier than the three term system, and will reflect that of our North American partner, Northeastern University. 

Aligning our semester dates with Northeastern will enable our Northeastern University London and Northeastern students to become a more integrated social community, expanding their network to include peers with a more diverse range of experiences and contexts. 

Moreover, students will benefit from a prolonged summer break, which can be used for a wide range of activities, such as earning money through paid work opportunities, undertaking internships, or traveling, all for a more extended period than the current academic calendar allows.

Semester dates for 2023 are detailed below:

Autumn Semester 2023

Semester commences: 6th September 2023

Semester ends: 15th December 2023

Spring semester 2024

Semester commences: 8th January 2024

Semester ends: 28th April 2024
