Free Digital Skills Training for Tower Hamlets Residents
NU London’s new Devon House campus is situated in the heart of Tower Hamlets and supporting our local community is central to our mission and values. In recognition of this, from September 2022 up to 50 Tower Hamlets residents will be able to secure a place on a free digital skills training programme designed to fast-track learners into new careers.
There are only a few weeks left to sign up, with induction week starting on 19th September 2022 and applications set to close on 30th August 2022, but might close sooner depending on the volume of applications recieved.
If you are interested in signing up or know someone you think could benefit, we have put together the below FAQ together to help you find out more.
What will I learn?
The course will cover key concepts around data management, databases and IT Service Management. Northeastern University London has teamed up with industry partner, ServiceNow so that learners have the chance to apply learning using ServiceNow’s cutting edge workflow solutions technology.
You’ll also receive structured employability support, aimed at helping you secure a role in digital on completion (we’ll even set up interviews for those who finish the programme!)
What do I get out of it?
Partnership with ServiceNow means that learners completing the programme will have access to a guaranteed interview for a job which will utilise new skills gained.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to work towards up to 30 university-level credits which could be put towards future study – including one of Northeastern University London’s digital degree apprenticeships.
You’ll also gain a range of sought-after skills for the workplace, with an acute shortage of ServiceNow professionals.
What support is on offer?
You’ll be welcomed onto the course through a full induction week, starting Monday 16th May. This will provide an opportunity to meet the Bootcamp team and get yourself set up. Importantly you’ll meet your named Success Manager who will support you through your training journey and act as your first port of call to discuss your goals and objects and to solve any issues or challenges.
Who is eligible?
The course is at Level 4, so we recommend having Level 3 (A-Levels/BTEC) qualifications or work experience before you start, this also means you will usually be 18+.
Apart from this, the course is open to everyone, however, priority will be given to those who would like to access a good job and start a career in digital.
How long does it take?
The course is flexible. It is designed to be completed over 14 weeks, with you spending 10-14 hours each week studying.
Where do I study?
You’ll be able to complete most of your learning online, however, if you would like a quiet place to work from, you’ll also be able to access study spaces at Northeastern University London’s Devon House campus.
Where can I find out more?
You can attend an online information session, or visit the Devon House campus to speak to the team, find the dates and times of sessions on Eventbrite
