Terms of Reference – Senior Management Group (SMG)

Context

The Senior Management Group (SMG) is not a part of the governance structure of the University but is a cross team group that ensures there is effective leadership, management and coordination of all academic, and professional services/provision undertaken by the University. SMG is responsible for operationally ensuring delivery of the Northeastern University London Strategic Plan.

SMG ensures that the University operates efficiently and effectively. It supplies the Executive Committee, Academic Board and its subcommittees with information and reports.

Terms of Reference

  1. To act collectively in ensuring the effective operation and management of the University.
  2. To advise the Executive Committee and Academic Board on operational and management issues facing the University.
  3. To consider the operational plans for the key areas of the University, to and ensure that academic and professional planning areas are properly integrated.
  4. To ensure that the University responds in a timely manner to emerging threats and takes advantage of new opportunities.
  5. To represent a coterie of senior managers who can assist in effecting the University’s policies and procedures.

Quorum

SMG will be quorate when the Chair (or alternate Chair, as agreed by the Chair) and at least three other members are present.

Frequency

The SMG meets weekly.
