Terms of Reference – Student Engagement Committee (SEC)

Context

The aim of the Student Engagement Committee is to provide a forum for students to provide feedback and evaluation that will lead to an enhancement of the student experience once resultant actions are implemented.

Student Representatives are the main port of communication between the student body and the University. The Student Engagement Committee provides an opportunity for students to identify good practice within their programmes as well as in other areas that they consider to be in need of review.

Terms of Reference

  1. To provide the main formal venue for the student body to provide feedback on a range of issues that relate to the operation of the programmes.
  2. To inform the student body of the outcomes of the feedback they have provided and about how the provision of services by the University has been enhanced as a result.
  3. To provide a venue for student consultation on the development of policies, procedures and proposals to enhance the delivery and assessment of the programmes, and act as a conduit to Faculties, Academic Senior Management Team, and Senior Management Group for students’ recommendations and/or suggestions.
  4. To provide a forum to enable and support student contributions to the Teaching Excellence Framework.
