Travel support

We are delighted to provide financial support to cover the cost of travel of individuals who wish to visit the University for the following events:

  • Open days
  • Offer holder days
  • Interviews
  • Celebration events
  • In person taster lectures
  • Summer schools

Eligibility

You must be a UK (Home domiciled student) and also meet one of the following criteria to qualify for financial support:

  • You attend an aspiring state school or college. Click here to download the excel sheet for the full list of eligible schools.
  • You have been in/or are currently under Local Authority Care
  • You are estranged from your parents or guardians
  • You are eligible for free school meals (FSM)
  • You are a forced migrant, refugee or asylum seeker
  • You are a young adult carer
  • You live in an area of lower progression to higher education or high deprivation (we will assess this on your home postcode)

Important information

  • When planning your journey that you should book the cheapest ticket (economy-class) and the most direct route to the University
  • All expense claims must be supported with valid receipts
  • We can only reimburse travel expenses for you, and not plus ones
  • You must submit your claim within 2 weeks of attending the event
  • We can only cover the cost of up to £150
