With a co-op work placement you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a professional work environment with one of our employer partners, with over 3,000 such employers across the Northeastern Global Network, spanning 131 countries.
These placements provide an integrated learning opportunity that enhances both your academic experience and career development. Co-op placements open the door to discover new possibilities, explore career paths, forge valuable industry connections, broaden horizons and gain the essential skills and knowledge for success.

- If you’re a full-time undergraduate degree student, you will be eligible for co-op placements from the second semester of your second year
- Before starting a co-op placement you’ll complete a specially designed preparatory course to help you get the most out of your placement
- There may be the option to take an integrated credit-bearing course alongside your co-op
- Co-op are typically 4 to 6 months, but can be up to 9 months
- Co-ops may be full-time or part-time; paid or unpaid; in-person, hybrid, or virtual
- Your careers and experiential learning adviser will be on hand to advise you about co-op opportunities
