Co-op

Sharpen your competitive edge with co-ops

Co-op is our most immersive experiential programme for students, a months-long professional work placement that blends classroom learning with valuable professional experience. For your organisation, co-op means bringing in talent from diverse backgrounds and skillsets, and shaping the future of your workforce.

Benefits to employers

Resource for your organisation’s needs

Co-op placements are an ideal duration (usually four to six months) for students to make a genuine impact in their role. That could mean completing several project sprints, backfilling your existing staff to help with an emerging challenge, or seeing through an implementation.

Short-term commitment

Co-ops are flexible and do not require an ongoing commitment. You can hire at multiple points throughout the year for different durations, and placements need not be full time. Furthermore, you can pause and restart your engagement with the programme at any time.

Sustainable recruitment pathway

By hiring a student while they are still at uni, you have the opportunity to engage with an exceptional new talent pool. In 2022, over half of the students in Northeastern University’s global network received a job offer from a co-op employer; this speaks volumes about how much employers value co-op as a pipeline for full-time talent.

By tailoring co-op placements to your business needs, you can lay the foundation for your organisation’s future, employing rising leaders who will guide the work in years to come.

Access to our global network

As a co-op employer, you become a member of our global community. This includes access to a range of events and opportunities to partner with our academic specialists and researchers on other initiatives that support your workforce development goals.

  • Advise on how to raise the visibility of your organisation and co-op opportunities on the Northeastern University London campus.
  • Schedule on-campus recruitment events and activities, according to your needs.
