Biography

Dr. Sara Abdelsayed is a Lecturer in Biology at Northeastern University London. Her interdisciplinary research spans medical microbiology, molecular biology, and host-pathogen interactions, focusing on microbial pathogenesis, antimicrobial resistance, and bacterial cellulose applications in biomedicine.

Qualifications

Dr. Abdelsayed holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Warwick, UK, where she investigated Myb transcription factors in pathogen virulence. She also holds an MSc in Medical Microbiology and a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences and Chemistry from Benha University, Egypt

Research

Her research integrates microbiology, biotechnology, and synthetic biology to explore pathogen-host interactions, bacterial proteomes, and disease control strategies.

Dr. Abdelsayed teaches biology courses at Northeastern University London, leading lectures, laboratory-based, and field-based practical’s. She has extensive experience mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students across institutions in the UK and Egypt.
