Postgraduate funding

Postgraduate Loan for masters study

The UK Government Postgraduate Loan (PGL) of up to £12,167 per student for postgraduate masters study in the UK is available for students normally residing in England. PGL will be a contribution towards the costs of study and whether the loan is used towards fees, maintenance or other costs will be at your own discretion.

There are separate loans for students domiciled in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Chevening Scholarships

Award 

Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, offering fully-funded scholarships to emerging leaders all over the world to pursue a master’s degree programme in the UK. They are funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. 

Chevening Scholarships are fully-funded, covering the cost of tuition fees, flights and accommodation. 

Scholarships are typically awarded for a one-year master’s degree. 

How to apply

Applications must be submitted using the online form on the Chevening website. You will also find full details of the application process here. 

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship, you must have the following criteria: 

  • Be a citizen of an eligible country or territory. 
  • Have completed an undergraduate degree and achieved honours that allows you to pursue a postgraduate degree (typically a 2:1 or above). 
  • Have at least two years of work experience.
  • Apply to three different eligible UK university degree programmes and have received an unconditional offer from at least one of these universities by the deadline listed on the application timeline.

Northeastern University London postgraduate tuition fee payment plans

We offer the option to spread the cost of your fees across the duration of your studies by paying by monthly direct debit.

International Students

A Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) deposit of £3,000, which will be offset against your first term fees, is required before we can initiate the CAS process for international students who require a UK Student visa to study at NU London.
