Student experience
“I believe that there are many untold benefits of studying abroad. While there’s the traditional accumulation of cultural knowledge and understanding, there’s a hidden aspect of acceptance that comes with being in a similar situation to many other people. There is a bond that is formed with these incredible people, who have undergone the same journey as you – to this day I still speak to so many people who I’ve met abroad.
It has also given me a newfound appreciation for the people I get to meet on a daily basis. I never would have imagined that someone from a small rural town in the east of England would be a friend of mine.
The experience of being abroad enriched my view about what it meant to move out of my hometown and explore. By grasping an understanding of a dual education system, I feel that I’ve learned to appreciate a bustling lecture hall, and a quaint study space.
The campus life in the US, from modern teaching strategies and integrated learning opportunities in our daily teaching, to England where a smaller class size allows the professor to help you learn in a personal style. I’ve assessed that both countries have large benefits in helping students grow in their academic work; this is an aspect I’ve enjoyed while studying in multiple spaces.
Studying abroad allowed me to dive head first into the unknown beauty of the world.”
