EU & EEA nationals

If you are an EU or EEA national intending to study in the UK for more than six months, you will need a student visa to attend Northeastern University London, unless you already possess a relevant UK visa.

For comprehensive details, please visit our Student Visa page.

Pre-Settled or Settled Status

EU and EEA nationals who were residing in the UK before 1 January 2021 and have been granted Pre-Settled or Settled status by the UKVI do not need to obtain a Student Visa to study at the University.

If you were residing in the UK before 1 January 2021, but have not applied for the EU Settlement Scheme, you will now be required to obtain a Student Visa, or any other visa you are entitled to, in order to study at the University.  For more information on the Student Visa, please see our Student Visa page, or contact the Visa Team (visa@nulondon.ac.uk) for further information.

Students with Pre-Settled and Settled status are still required to participate in the University’s Right to Study checks. You can find out more about Right To Study checks here.

EU students who are travelling to the UK to study will need to carry proof of immigration status when arriving in the UK.

Irish Nationals

Irish nationals are not subject to immigration control and can live and study in the UK without a visa.

If you have any questions regarding your study rights in the UK, please contact the Visa Team (visa@nulondon.ac.uk).
