Why study Politics & IR in London

The Palace of Westminster (containing the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben), Downing Street and Whitehall are all half an hour away from Northeastern University London using public transport, giving students access to the home of British politics. Take a tour of the Houses of Parliament on Saturdays by clicking here.

Fun fact: Big Ben is often used to describe the tower, but that is actually called Elizabeth Tower. Big Ben is the name of the Great Bell itself!

With the City of London, Royal Courts of Justice and media companies all nearby, London is the perfect location for Politics & IR students to experience every aspect of the political landscape and find work experience opportunities closely related to their degrees.

Chatham House is an independent policy institute and a trusted forum for debate and dialogue. Their research and ideas help people understand our changing world. They have provided leadership on defining key issues, such as World War II and the decolonization of Africa. As Northeastern University London is a corporate member of Chatham House, students and staff can also attend their member’s conference talks and events. For each event, we have an allocation of 4 tickets available for each event. Additional tickets may be allocated at the discretion of Chatham House. To sign up, please email events@nchlondon.ac.uk with your event of interest and we will register you for the event. Tickets will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
